I have to start taking adderall and was wondering how effective it is in weight loss? How long would it take to lose weight and how much weight do you usually lose?

Well, personally I only feel the side effects of medicine for the first couple weeks of going on whatever meds I am taking. So during the first ten days of taking adderall I lost 8 pounds, but once my body adjusted to the medicine, I gained most of it back.
A healthy diet and consistent exercise is the only true way to lose weight and keep it off

Adderall isn’t effective at all in weight loss. While there is appetite suppression-as with all amphetamines, the effect wears off once the medication wears off. You may not eat anything for 4-8 hours when the medication is in effect, but after it wears off your hunger comes back double or triple what it might normally be due to a combination of not eating as well as your body using so much energy due to the effects of the amphetamine.
its not good…
jogging
swimming
squats
and weight lifting are the best to loose weight
Let me tell you my experience so you can lose or gain from it whatever you’d like.
Once upon a time there was an idiot named Me who found this drug called Adderall. Some guy was taking it for his ADHD and mentioned that people take it to help them study. Since Me is in college, he decided to check it out for some study help (which, of course, is illegal without a prescription… but anyway). He took one 20mg tablet at first, but ended up taking 2 in the end. The effects were incredible and I could go on for hours about how alert and aware he felt, but that’s beside the point. Me quickly got addicted to this drug and began taking it for more recreational purposes. Within his binge there was one instance in which he went extremely overboard. Me used Adderall to stay awake for 5 days straight, taking 2x 20mg tablets sometimes twice a day. Within those 5 days he only ate twice, and lost nearly 10 – 15 lbs (I was only 180 lbs at the time, I am a 21yo Male). SO TO ANSWER YOUR QUESTION about Weight Loss, it’s pretty damn good. HOWEVER. When Me decided that the 5 day binge was up and he allowed a weekend to rest, that weekend became a nightmare. He wanted to sleep, but it was impossible. His body was absurdly sore. The inside of his mouth felt covered in paste and was totally dry. He was completely dehydrated. Me knew he was starving, but he had no appetite what-so-ever and had to force himself to eat what little he could. When Me finally fell asleep on the second day of rest, he had intense dreams (nightmares maybe?) and cold sweats. On the third day (Monday) he felt relatively normal except for a massive headache. Some Advil cleared it up, and he was off to school. Though Me recovered, he knew what he had done was dangerous and stupid.
This happened about a year and a half ago. I learned a lot from my experience and understand how stupid it was for me to go so overboard on a drug I knew so little about. However, as I type I am currently on 40mg of Adderall (it’s partially why I looked up the question). I have only taken it 3 times since the event in my story (this being the 3rd), and I do so for the sole purpose of helping me finish college work and keep on track with school. Taking this as a weight loss drug could be extremely dangerous as you will be starving yourself of essential nutrients (you will lose MUSCLE weight as much as Fat weight, maybe more if you’re already relatively fit).
So for your own safety, please DO NOT USE this for Weight Loss (though what you do is really up to you). Though I cannot deny its effectiveness as a study aid (Just don’t get addicted!!!).
I hope this helps you.
