Men, this site is not about how to stay lean your whole life. It’s about reality; and the reality is we men constantly move form a ste of being in shape to being out of shape and over weight. Let’s not kid ourselves and think we will always be lean. We get complacent and then we get fat until we decided to do somemthing about it. that how life really is. I’m no different. After having a six pack for the first time in over five years, I recently let my guard down and packed on about 10 pounds over the holidays. Story of my life:

From the age of 13 I’ve been a hardcore bodybuilding enthusiast. Never taken anything stronger than some amino acids and always had a six pack. Then things changed. Life gets in the way and you eventually look in the mirror and say “Where the heck did that fat slob come from and what did he do to my body?” I’m sure most men have had similar experiences.

Well it’s happened to me 5 times and 5 times I’ve gotten back in shape in record time using more than one fast weight loss for men technique. Let me tell you about it. 

#1 . Fat to Fit - I had just bought my first house at 25 and then got promoted. The extra stress and lessened physical activity made me put on about 20 pounds.  I decided to fix that. I went on a 6 day a week weight lifting routine, switched to a low carb diet 5 days a week (this was around 1990, before anyone had even heard of a low carb diet) and lost those 20 pounds in about 2 months.

#2. Chunk To Hunk - A few years later I lost interest in working out or even being in shape and had started to enjoy the pleasures of expensive meals in fancy restaurants. You guessed it: Chub city. I was now about 25 lbs heavier and really wanted to lose weight fast. I bought Bill Phillip’s Body for Life: 12 Weeks to Mental and Physical Strength About Me Book and started his 12 week routine. Within 6 weeks I had lost 25 lbs. and gained 1.5″ on my arms. Mission accomplished. Lean and mean.

#3. Flat Butt=Fat butt. It was 1999 and I just bought my first computer. Suddenly I became a PC geek and stopped working out altogether. Next thing I know I’m about 15 lbs over where I wanted to be. How to lose it fast? Colon cleanse. Hard to believe but I lost over 15 pounds in 3 weeks simply by following a colon cleansing program combined with a intermittent fasting diet.

#4. Put The Pedal To The Metal - Another promotion and planning a wedding with a new bride stressed me out and I went into eating on overdrive. What to do this time? I really didn’t feel like dieting and I just wasn’t up to lifting weights since I had hurt my back. So I took up cycling. 20 miles every day pedaling as fast as I could the entire 20 miles, 5 days a week.

Lost 10 lbs in the first 2 weeks, and continued to lose weight until I had my six pack back. In fact while I was cycling I could literally eat anything I wanted as much as I wanted and couldn’t put a lb on if my life depended on it. But this type of program is way too intense for most men.

#5. 40 in 40. I bought a motorcycle, and the pedal bike went in the closet. Guess what happened next? I put on 40 lbs in about 40 weeks. Wow. Left it that way for a few years occasionally dropping 10 to 15 lbs in a 2 or 3 week period and then let myself gain it back. What cured me this time? Mike Geary’s “Truth About Abs“. Amazing, I got ripped abs in record time, put very little thought into it and I continue to stay in shape even after 18 months. Then the holidays came around and I started piling on the pounds again.

And I decided to try something new.
