Eat Stop Eat Program
OK. In my last post I said I would explain how intermittent fasting and the Eat Stop Eat program can work as an effective tool for weight loss for men. There are two basic rules at work here:
1. If you eat less calories than you burn you will lose weight
2. Your body will adapt to your habits
The “Starvation” Problem
The second rule comes into play when people try to starve themselves to lose weight. What happens is this: they eat a lot less food for a short period and during that period their body adjusts by slowing down their metabolism. When they give up the diet and resume normal eating, the additional calories result in permanent weight gain before the body has had a chance to reset its metabolism rate.
The reason I say intermittent fasting is the most effective weight loss for men system is that you can reduce your “weekly” calorie intake, without reducing your “daily” calorie intake. Let’s say you typically eat 2000 calories a day. That equates into 14,000 a week. Now if you were to start eating only 10,000 calories a week, you would lose weight. No argument.

Reducing Calories Without Sacrifice
What a typical diet would do would be to divide those 10,000 calories equally over the seven days for 1428 calories a day. Any man trying to live on 1428 a day who was accustomed to 2000 is going to be miserable. And his metabolism will reset.
This is where this program shines. Instead of suffering on 1428 a day let’s stick to 2000 a day or even 2400 a day but only for 5 days and fast on two days. Your metabolism will not reset, because it’s getting the same amount of daily calories as before and you won’t feel like you’re on a diet at all.
Guys, I’m telling you, I love this. You can actually increase the amount of food you eat daily and still lose weight. That’s how it works. It’s simple weight loss for men science that can’t be disputed.
Are You Man Enough To Lose The Weight?
Now I know you’re thinking that there’s no way you can go 24 hours without eating, but I’m telling you: when you know that you’re going to be following it with your normal diet, it’s not hard at all. I’m sure that you done it before, maybe not voluntarily, but you certainly fasted before. When you resumed eating, was there any negative effects? Of course not.

Weight Loss For Men
Forget everything I’ve told you already about weight loss for men. After experimenting with intermittent fasting, I’m abandoning all my calorie counting, low fat or low carb diets and am now only going to use exercise or occasionally fasting to lose weight.
I was in the middle of converting this weight los for men website from a large traditional site to this new blog-based format when I came across this system. In fact; I had only moved a few pages, just so Google had something to index when I decided to try this radical new weight loss method out to drop a few pounds I gained over the holidays. I have never had trouble losing weight myself (once I got motivated enough) and had a lot of experience with bodybuilding routines and exercises, so I knew if it didn’t work I’d just use another method to drop the pounds.
On this web site’s original home page I described how 5 times I lost a lot of weight fast using 5 different methods. The problem with all of those methods were that most men did not have the will power to give up food they loved or stick with a serious exercise program, myself included. Once and a while I would just pig out (usually on a Saturday) and then basically not eat the next day, to hopefully not blow my progress. It always worked.
People will tell you not to fast because your body’s metabolism will slow down and you’ll get fat. I have always had issues on Saturdays and Sundays where I don’t even get my first meal in until around 5 o clock. I don’t know, I’m just not hungry early in the day on the weekends, never have been. So I basically have been doing two mini-fasts every weekend for most of my life. It’s never caused me to gain any weight and I know exactly why.
Your body does adjust to lower food intake by slowing your metabolism down and storing extra fat. It’s a built in survival mechanism. If you’re not eating often enough it wants to store energy for later use . If you’re eating a lot it will keep your metabolism at full steam. That’s how low carb diets work. If you eat a lot of fat your body sees that you are ingesting a lot of fat and instead of storing it; it will go ahead and burn it off as it’s primary fuel source.
Back to weight loss for men and fasting. Men, when you’re trying to lose weight, your body will make adjustments but it doesn’t make them over a single day or two day change in your body. When I was serious bodybuilder, I would eat basically no carbs for 5 days (my body had to burn fat, as I gave it no other choice) and then eat all the carbs I could get my hands on over the weekend to pump my muscles full of glycogen. I stayed ripped all the time because my body stayed in fat burning mode during the two day carb fest.
So I know from first hand experience that intermittent fasting will not cause your metabolism to slow down because your body won’t adjust that quickly. In my next post I’m going to tell you exactly how it does work.
